Insurance
Most of our physical therapy is covered by Medicare/Medicaid and private insurance; many HMOs & PPOs also cover rehabilitative services. Workers’ compensation, automobile accident, and privately paying patients are also welcomed. Please call us to see if we accept your type of insurance.
Direct Access
No prescription for physical therapy? No problem.
The ability to visit a physical therapist without a prescription or referral is called Direct Access.
Direct Access allows you to go directly to a physical therapist without the need for a physician prescription or referral. Now, forty-eight states, and the District of Columbia have made a ruling enabling patients “direct access” to physical therapy services and programs.
In other words, the government made it acceptable for individuals to go straight to a clinic of their choice and receive the resources and treatment they require. No referral, or prescription necessary.
A major advantage to direct access is that patients see a decrease in their out-of-pocket costs by skipping a visit to their general practitioner for a referral. It also means that treatment can get underway faster. Direct access empowers you to take back control of your health by allowing you to choose an approach that will best suit your needs. The laws also enhance the relationship between you and your physical therapist by permitting the therapist to establish a plan of care and treatment as a team.
